Is North Care covered by OHIP?
Where you're eligible, visits with your North Care physician are billed to your provincial plan just like an in-person visit — so they're $0 to you. For uninsured services (like sick notes) or if you don't have a valid health card, you'll see one clear price before you book.
How fast can I see a doctor?
On-demand visits typically connect within minutes, with a live queue that shows your real wait time. Prefer a set time? Book an appointment that fits your schedule — often the same day.
Are these real Canadian doctors?
Yes. Every physician on North Care is licensed by their provincial College (e.g. CPSO in Ontario) and carries medical liability coverage. You'll see the same doctor again whenever possible.
Can I get a prescription?
Yes — appropriate prescriptions and refills are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose. Some medications (like controlled substances) can't be prescribed in a first virtual visit, for your safety.
Is my health information private?
Completely. Your data is encrypted, stored in Canada, and only accessible inside your circle of care. We're built to meet PHIPA and Canadian privacy law from day one.
What if my issue can't be handled online?
We'll tell you honestly and help you get to the right place — an in-person clinic, lab, specialist referral, or emergency care. North Care is not for medical emergencies.
